Service Description

At Family & Child Consultants, we understand the importance of creating a safe, supportive environment for every family. Our Supervised Access Intake & Assessment is the essential first step before supervised contact visits can begin. This process is designed to ensure the wellbeing of all participants, establish clear expectations, and tailor our services to your family’s unique needs. A thorough intake and assessment process helps us deliver trauma-informed, culturally sensitive supervision that supports positive outcomes for children and families. Our experienced practitioners meet with both parties, either in-person or online, to gather important background information and understand your goals for supervised access. Risk & Needs Assessment: We use our agency-designed risk assessment form and cultural identity checklist to identify any safety considerations, cultural or language needs, and additional supports required—especially for culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) or Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families. Consent & Confidentiality: All participants complete mandatory consent and confidentiality forms, ensuring a transparent, ethical process. Personalized Planning: We work with you to develop a supervision plan that prioritizes safety, comfort, and the best interests of the child.
